Improving Your Game
We all aim to play better bowls and to deliver good shots close to the small white jack ‘bowl’. If we bowl well we navigate our bowl past other bowls and with the right weight of shot the bowl we have delivered ends up close to or even touching the jack. If we bowl the bowl too fast (weighted too heavily) we see our shot sailing past the jack and even going into the ditch as a ‘dead’ bowl.
At first sight it is both simple and easy but as you progress you learn you need to be able to repeat a good shot and to sometimes play strategically as part of a team. You come to realise you may need coaching, you must practice your game, be a good team player and enter competitions to play better players to improve your concentration and learn how to hold your nerve! All these aspects are touched upon in the attached article
