Our Competitions

In bowls the team game formats can range from one player to four players in a team. We have 22 club competitions, spread fairly evenly across both our men and ladies section’s, plus two awards for contributions to club activities. The club competitions are mainly for singles play (one person versus another) and pairs teams (two players pair together to form a team). Newer bowlers have their own competition called The Tansey Cup.

Each season, our club enters a broad range of National, County and District level competitions. We have also joined the East Herts Bowls League and currently have two teams in Division 3 of that competition.

Our club is usually entered into the National Two Fours Competition (often two entries), the National Tony Allcock Competition (two entries and two teams) and The National Top Club Competitions; entries for both our Men and Ladies.

At the County and District Levels we also provide a very full level of participation in the knockout and league competitions for both our Men and Ladies Sections (e.g. County Top Ten, County Team Championship). As a club we generally compete very well and are often involved in playing in the later stages and finals of various competitions.
