Men's Games;

SUCCESS! For the Potters Bar Triples – both the Triples Team (Alan Oldham, Keith Lucas and Brian Clarke) and for the Potters Bar 2 Wood Triples team of David Sparrow, Colin Malone and Paul Stevens. Some of our pictures follow. You can see a full round up of the day with pictures at the SADBA website. In the Officers singles final Colin Malone came second to Phil Russell and in the Club Triples (managed by Jan Southwell) the Potters Bar teams also came second to very strong teams from WGC.

In the two wood triples Potters Bar had a very strong team that remained in control throughout the game. In the ‘standard’ Triples there was a tremor of concern for Potters Bar supporters. The Potters Bar team were holding a lead of five shots going into the last end (playing a team from Welwyn and District) but the opposition lead started very well with three shots clustered around the jack. Unfortunately the other Welwyn and District teammates were unable to capitalise on this and the Potters Bar team ran out winners by two shots. Pictured below are the SADBA Winning Triples team and the PBBC Club Triples Teams.

THE EAST HERTS BOWLS LEAGUE TABLE

Attached is the final League positions for this year’s competitions.  Potters Bar have had a fantastic result, well done everyone for their contribution.  We have not heard about promotions yet, this will follow closer to the start of next year’s competition.

EHB League Table 2024

For the first time the Mens County 4’s reached the Final of the Southern area  after beating Oak Hill Bowls Club in the morning session of the finals at Harpenden.
Both Teams won & met W.G.City in the afternoon Final. Our rinks of Peter Openshaw Paul Stevens Jan Southwell & David Sparrow together with Colin Malone David Salmon Brian Vince & Richard Pearce put up a good display but lost to the best team in the heat of the afternoon.

Hurrah! The Potters Bar Men have reached the final of the Ranson Cup which will be on September 8th at Buntingford. Two teams of four players.

We also are doing very well in the SADBA competitions with various players already in the finals. It is turning out to be a very good year for Potters Bar men bowlers.
